The Emerald Dawn is a British progressive‑rock group originally formed in 2010 in Edinburgh, Scotland, by multi‑instrumentalists Katrina “Tree” Stewart (keyboards, piano, flute, acoustic guitar, percussion, vocals) and Alan “Ally” Carter (electric and acoustic guitars, guitar synthesizer, tenor and soprano saxophones, keyboards, vocals). The duo later relocated to St Ives, Cornwall, where they were joined by jazz drummer Thomas Jackson, establishing the band’s core lineup. The group describes itself as a symphonic and eclectic progressive‑rock ensemble, blending elements of classical music, jazz, rock, folk and world music. Their sound is characterized by cinematic arrangements, atmospheric textures and multi‑instrumental interplay.
