Meadows is a band founded by Silhouette guitarist Daniël van der Weijde, also known as Daniël Meadows, together with musicians from Silhouette, Incidense and former Coppersky members: Jurjen Bergsma, Peter Meijer, Rob van Nieuwenhuijzen and Jeffrey van Driest. After three years of writing and developing material, the group released its debut album Modern Emotions in 2020. The record draws inspiration from artists such as Dream Theater, Haken, Muse and Porcupine Tree. Modern Emotions explores themes such as dreaming and imagination, nostalgia, acceptance, and the increasing pressure to perform in modern society — along with the emotional and psychological impact that pressure can have.
