The Abyss Inside Us is a Greek solo project created by Nikos Togaridis, active since 2019. Working primarily within the realms of ambient, post‑rock and neoclassical music, the project has become a notable presence in Greece’s expanding post‑rock landscape. Its sound is characterized by melancholic melodies, atmospheric textures and a blend of electronic and cinematic influences. Before establishing the project, Togaridis experimented with various genres, including electronic music, ambient soundscapes and film‑inspired compositions. He adopted the name The Abyss Inside Us for the release of his debut EP Earth 2 in 2019, marking his shift toward post‑rock as his primary creative direction. Since its inception, The Abyss Inside Us has been highly prolific. Togaridis has released ten albums, exploring different shades of ambient and post‑rock expression. His work is entirely instrumental and created independently, reflecting a personal and introspective approach to composition. This stylistic blend has earned the project a dedicated following within the Greek underground scene and beyond. Among the early works is the album The Road That Leads to Another, which helped establish the project’s signature sound. Togaridis has continued to develop his musical language, with new material regularly in progress. One of his upcoming releases is the album Aerialist, announced as a future digital release. The Abyss Inside Us remains an entirely self‑produced endeavor, with Togaridis handling all instrumentation, recording and production.
