Agnesz was born on 5 January in Strzelce Opolskie, Poland. At the age of two she was adopted by Dutch parents and moved to the Netherlands. When she was five, her mother enrolled her in ballet classes, sparking a lifelong passion for dance, singing and acting. In 1998 she began taking acting lessons at the Youth Theatre School in Groningen. During a performance of Hamlet, her work caught the attention of the director of the northern Dutch theatre company De Noordelingen. She joined their ensemble and toured with their production of the Greek tragedy Oedipus. From 2001 to 2004, Agnesz studied Dance at Friesland College in Heerenveen. After graduating she moved to Spain, where she taught ballet and modern dance, immersed herself in flamenco, and joined the Spanish theatre company Vientos Sur Teatro. During this period she bought her first guitar and began writing her own songs. Music lessons became an important part of her development as a singer‑songwriter. At 22, Agnesz was accepted into the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York City. She moved there on Christmas Day and trained intensively with renowned acting teachers. While living in New York, she appeared in short films and in off‑ and off‑off‑Broadway productions.
