Alias Eye is a German progressive rock band that emerged as a five‑piece formation at the start of the 2000s. Their first step into the spotlight came with a self‑produced three‑track EP in 2000, which quickly attracted the attention of DVS Records. The label signed the group and released their first official full‑length album the following year. The band’s core line‑up consists of Phillip Griffiths on vocals — son of Martin Griffiths of Beggar’s Opera, and notably similar in tone — Vytas Lemke on keyboards, Matthias Richter on electric and acoustic guitars, Frank Fischer on bass, and Ludwig Benedek on drums. Alias Eye draws inspiration from a wide range of artists and genres. Their influences include The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Jethro Tull, Spock’s Beard, Dream Theater, and even classical composers such as Bach and Beethoven. As a result, their sound is stylistically diverse, moving fluidly between rock, pop, funk, jazz and classical elements.
