Phil Manca

Philippe Manca, known professionally as Phil Manca, is a French guitarist and composer best known for his contributions to the first ERA album and for creating the musical Jack and the Beanstalk. Since 2019 he has focused on a solo rock career infused with strong blues influences, releasing three albums under his own name. Music Career Manca began his career in the early 1980s alongside drummer Farid Medjane in the hard rock band TNT, which made an appearance in an episode of The Last Five Minutes. He later joined forces with Barbara Schenker in the heavy metal group Sortilège, which was subsequently renamed The Team. His path then led to a long‑running collaboration with guitarist and composer Eric Levi, who invited him to participate in the recording of several film scores for director Jean‑Marie Poiré, including The Visitors and The Guardian Angels. This partnership eventually resulted in the creation of the ERA project in 1997, blending choral arrangements by Guy Protheroe with Manca’s distinctive guitar work.
