Vladimir Sivc, born on 19 August 1979 in Osijek, Eastern Croatia, is the musician behind the project Funky Destination, also known under his alias Mr. Louie. The project represents his return to a raw, retro‑inspired funk aesthetic, driven by energetic grooves and an instinctive feel for rhythm. Louie’s musical path began with guitar lessons, later leading him into rock music as both a singer and rhythm guitarist. In the late 1990s he moved from eastern Croatia to the country’s Adriatic coast, where he discovered DJ culture and began working with turntables. As he transitioned into production, Sivc explored a wide range of styles, blending house, tribal influences, and live instrumentation. He deliberately avoided overly processed sounds, aiming instead for music that feels organic and vibrant. By relying on real instruments and natural textures, his tracks carry a lively, infectious energy that has become a hallmark of the Funky Destination sound.
