Colin James is one of Canada’s most enduring and decorated musicians, with more than twenty studio albums, multiple Juno Awards, dozens of Maple Blues Awards, and several multi‑platinum releases to his name. Throughout his career he has continually pushed himself artistically, moving fluidly between blues, rock, swing, and roots music while collaborating with an impressive roster of world‑class musicians.
His album Chasing the Sun showcases this adventurous spirit, featuring guest appearances from artists such as Lucinda Williams, Darryl Jones, Charley Drayton, Charlie Musselwhite, and gospel vocalists Ann and Regina McCrary. His 2021 release Open Road earned him a Juno Award for Best Blues Album and a nomination from the Blues Foundation, blending new original songs with fresh interpretations of material by other writers. The 2018 album Miles to Go also drew international attention, charting on Billboard and spending months in the top tier of blues radio rankings.
