Gasoline Outlaws is a hard rock band from Belfast, Northern Ireland, formed in 2014. The group consists of vocalist Matt Fitzsimons, guitarist Adam Parkin, bassist Chris Fitzsimons, and drummer Adam Callaghan. The band is rooted in the Belfast rock scene and draws on a broad mix of influences ranging from heavy metal to melodic rock and contemporary pop. Brothers Matt and Chris Fitzsimons had been active in the local music community for years and knew drummer Ryan Hood through the Belfast scene. Guitarist Adam Parkin joined after responding to an online advertisement for a different project Chris was involved in. When Matt returned from a period of travelling in Australia, the four musicians began working together and established Gasoline Outlaws. The band name was chosen after the music was already taking shape. Matt paired the word Outlaws with the title of the Audioslave song “Gasoline”, simply because the combination had the right feel for the band’s sound and attitude. Gasoline Outlaws draws inspiration from a wide range of genres. Their influences span from heavy metal to mainstream pop, creating a blend that shapes their riff‑driven, groove‑oriented sound. Alongside their heavier material, the band also incorporates acoustic arrangements, giving their releases a broader stylistic range. A defining element of their identity is Matt Fitzsimons’ distinctive vocal style, which provides a consistent thread throughout their work. Most lyrics are written by Matt Fitzsimons. His writing often reflects personal experiences as well as aspects of local history and culture, giving the songs a grounded and narrative quality. Although the band’s name suggests an American origin, Gasoline Outlaws is firmly rooted in Belfast’s rock tradition. Their debut album No Rules, No Laws, No Regrets introduced their blend of hard rock and blues‑infused elements.
