Arcade Fire is a Canadian indie rock band from Montreal, Quebec. The group consists of multi‑instrumentalists Win Butler, Régine Chassagne, Richard Reed Parry, Tim Kingsbury and Jeremy Gara. The touring lineup includes former core member Sarah Neufeld and multi‑instrumentalists Paul Beaubrun and Dan Boeckner. Most of the band’s studio albums feature contributions from composer and violinist Owen Pallett, who has also performed as a touring member. Founded in 2001 by friends and classmates Win Butler and Josh Deu, the band rose to prominence in 2004 with their critically acclaimed debut album Funeral. Their second album, Neon Bible, earned the 2008 Meteor Music Award for Best International Album and the 2008 Juno Award for Alternative Album of the Year. Their third album, The Suburbs (2010), received widespread acclaim and commercial success, winning the 2011 Grammy Award for Album of the Year, the 2011 Juno Award for Album of the Year and the 2011 Brit Award for Best International Album. In 2013, Arcade Fire released their fourth album, Reflektor, and composed the score for the feature film Her, for which Owen Pallett and then‑member Will Butler were nominated for Best Original Score at the 86th Academy Awards. The band released their fifth studio album, Everything Now, in 2017.
