Poco

Poco…The Country Rock Band That Kept On Tryin' – On The RecordsPoco is an American country rock band, originated in 1968 after the collapse of Buffalo Springfield. The band is seen as the pioneer for the country-rock that inspired bands like The Eagles. Poco is the first band that makes this sound heard on LP. However, they never had the success that The Eagles did have later. The first line-up consisted of former Buffalo Springfield members, singer and percussionist Richie Furay and Jim Messina (lead guitar and vocals) from Rusty Young, (steel guitar and dobro), George Grantham (drums and vocals) and Randy Meisner (bass guitar and vocals). The latter left the band before the release of the first LP, Pickin’up the pieces. He will help to establish the Eagles group after a few side-paths; Timothy B. Schmit succeeded him. See for more.
