Weed was a short‑lived German–British rock project formed through a collaboration between members of the German krautrock band Virus and musician Ken Hensley, known for his work with Uriah Heep. The group recorded a single self‑titled album in 1971, characterized by a sound that closely reflected the heavy organ‑driven style and guitar‑focused arrangements associated with Hensley’s work in Uriah Heep. The lineup for the project included Ken Hensley on vocals, guitar, and keyboards; Reinhold Spiegelfeld on bass; Bernd Hohmann on flute; Werner Monka on guitar; Rainer Schnelle on keyboards; and Peet Becker on drums. Although the band existed only briefly, their album has since attracted interest among collectors of early 1970s German rock due to its distinctive blend of krautrock influences and British hard‑rock elements.
