Fragile was a little‑known band that played a heavy style of rock built around a twin‑guitar sound. They chose the name as a nod to the band Yes, who had released an album with the same title. Musically, Fragile operated in a similar vein as groups like Cargo or Wishbone Ash. The band formed around 1972 and recorded an album in 1974, though it did not see release until 1976. Shortly after the album came out, their rehearsal space — along with all of their equipment — was destroyed in a fire. Despite the setback they continued performing for a while, but the lack of financial stability eventually led to the group’s breakup. In 2004, their album was finally reissued on CD.
