Glasgow Coma Scale was founded in February 2011 by brothers Piotr and Marek Kowalski. Both are classically trained musicians who spent their early lives between Kraków and Barcelona before eventually settling in Frankfurt, Germany. Although they had played music for many years, this project marked the first time the two brothers performed together in the same band. With the addition of drummer Helmes Bode, the lineup became complete — the Kowalskis forming the creative core, and Bode providing the rhythmic drive and structural backbone. The band’s name is taken from the neurological assessment tool used to evaluate the condition of the central nervous system. It reflects the group’s interest in atmospheric, introspective and often intense musical landscapes. After releasing their debut EP Apophenia, Glasgow Coma Scale expanded their sound further into psychedelic and post‑rock territory. This evolution culminated in the album Enter Oblivion, released in December 2016 through Fluttery Records. The record builds on the textures and moods of their earlier work, pushing their cinematic and space‑oriented style to a more expansive level.
