Leif de Leeuw

The Leif de Leeuw Band is widely regarded as one of Europe’s leading southern‑style jam bands. Guitarist Leif de Leeuw has been voted the best blues‑rock guitarist in the Benelux nine consecutive times, while vocalist Sem Jansen gained national recognition as the winner of the television show Hit the Road. The six‑piece group is known for its dynamic live performances, featuring powerful guitar work, two drummers playing in tandem, explosive Hammond organ parts and storytelling songs that leave plenty of room for improvisation. Over the past decade, the band has built a strong international reputation through extensive touring across Europe, the United States and China. Their musical direction became clear after their Allman Brothers tribute tours in 2018 and 2019. The band embraced a lineup with two drummers, Hammond organ, bass, two electric guitars and Sem Jansen’s distinctive, raspy vocals. Improvisation is central to their approach, making every concert a unique experience. Their sound blends elements of rock, blues, Americana, country and southern rock, enriched with heartfelt lyrics and a warm 1970s atmosphere. See for more.
