Hidden Phase is an atmospheric and progressive rock project from Angers, France. The group operates as a two‑member studio act, active in the fields of alternative and progressive rock. Although the project presents itself with anonymity, the two musicians are known only as distinct creative identities: one handling vocals and keyboards, the other responsible for guitars, bass, and keyboards. Hidden Phase originated in 2016, beginning as a private, “parallel” creative project with no initial intention of becoming a public band. The two members composed music for personal enjoyment, gradually shaping a sound that blended atmospheric textures with alternative rock elements. By the end of 2018, the duo decided to record eight tracks selected from a larger pool of compositions. This decision marked the transition from a hidden side‑project to a more formal studio endeavor. The band’s first full‑length album, The Deviant Place Theory, was released as an eight‑track alternative rock record. The album reflects a blend of melancholic moods, atmospheric arrangements, and moments of heavier impact. Despite being created by only two musicians, the album incorporates layered instrumentation and detailed production. Several songs from the album were accompanied by official videos. Hidden Phase maintains a strong sense of mystery. The members appear masked in all public imagery, and their real names remain undisclosed. This anonymity reinforces the project’s conceptual identity and emphasizes the music over individual personalities.
