Astetal is an instrumental post‑rock project from Vicenza, northern Italy, formed in the winter of 2015. The group’s music is characterized by atmospheric textures, cinematic dynamics, and slow‑building emotional development, drawing inspiration from the natural landscapes surrounding their home region. Astetal’s debut album, Veliger, was recorded in the summer of 2019 and released in January 2020. The album is conceptually rooted in the Astico Valley and the mountains that frame it, using instrumental storytelling to evoke themes of memory, place, and the passage of time. The band’s first single, “Moon Circles,” was released on YouTube and introduced listeners to their blend of ambient soundscapes and expansive post‑rock structures. With its combination of atmospheric guitar work, layered arrangements, and a focus on mood over narration, Astetal invites listeners into immersive sonic environments shaped by both geography and introspection.
