Wheel is a progressive metal band from Helsinki, Finland, built around the lineup of James Lascelles (vocals, guitar), Santeri Saksala (drums), Aki “Conan” Virta (bass), and Jussi Turunen (lead guitar). The group released its debut album Moving Backwards in February 2019, followed by the full‑length Resident Human on 26 March 2021. From the beginning, Wheel has been known for its tightly wound rhythms, layered guitar work and introspective lyrical themes. When creating Resident Human, the band deliberately chose a more organic and unpolished sound than on their debut. As they explained, modern production tools make it easy to perfect every detail — but this time they intentionally left more of the natural performance intact, a decision that aligned closely with the album’s themes and emotional tone.
