Ole Børud

Ole Arnold Børud (born 6 December 1976) is a Norwegian singer, songwriter, multi‑instrumentalist, producer, and audio engineer. He is active both as a solo artist and as a member of several notable groups, including Arnold B. Family, Schaliach, Extol, and Fleshkiller. Børud grew up in a musical household as the son of gospel performers Arnold Børud and Anne Marie Børud. He began performing at the age of five in the family group Arnold B. Family, which took part in the Melodi Grand Prix on three occasions. At twelve he released his first solo recording, a Christian children’s album. As he entered his teens, Børud shifted toward heavier styles. He first explored metal in the duo Schaliach, and later became a key member of the progressive metal band Extol. He also spent a short period performing with the hardcore punk band Selfmindead. Børud returned to Extol in 2012, contributing to the band’s later phase. Since the early 2000s, Børud has built a parallel solo career rooted in West Coast, pop, funk, and jazz.
