Made In Germany

Made in Germany was an early Berlin‑based pop‑rock group whose origins go back to a school band called Cosmics. In 1965 the young musicians adopted the name Take Five, and under that banner they gained regional attention. Their breakthrough came in 1968 when they won an international beat‑festival competition, marking the high point of their early pop‑rock period. With the rise of krautrock at the end of the 1960s, the band attempted to reinvent themselves to align with the new musical climate. This shift led to a change of name: Made in Germany. Under this identity they moved toward a more contemporary, experimental rock sound, reflecting the broader transformation of the German music scene at the time. Members: Dieter Alsleben, Hans‑Dieter Graber, Joachim Padem Rita Peuker, Stephan Pade, Wolfgang Schulz. Although their recorded legacy is modest, Made in Germany represents a transitional moment in German rock history — a bridge between the beat‑era school bands of the 1960s and the emerging krautrock movement of the early 1970s.
