Panthéon began as a band performing Top 40 covers, but by late 1971 the musicians shifted their focus to original material, much of it instrumental. Their music showed clear classical influences and stylistic similarities to early Camel and Finch, placing them firmly within the emerging symphonic rock movement of the early 1970s. Although the band never achieved major commercial success, they did manage to secure several notable performances. Panthéon appeared at Paradiso in Amsterdam and served as the opening act for groups such as Focus and Solution. Their most prominent moment came when they supported the Steve Miller Band at De Doelen in Rotterdam. By 1974 the project came to an end, leaving behind a small but respected footprint in the Dutch symphonic rock scene.
