Dustbowl Revival is a genre‑bending roots collective known for their energetic live shows and adventurous blend of American styles. Even founder and primary songwriter Z. Lupetin admits the only real way to understand the band is to experience them on stage. What began as a humble Craigslist experiment in Venice Beach has grown into a constantly evolving ensemble — nearly thirty musicians have passed through the lineup — creating a sound that mixes folky funk, brass‑driven soul, and jangly rock with fearless, story‑rich lyrics. Rather than staying in one stylistic lane, the band has built a loyal following the old‑fashioned way: through relentless touring, dynamic performances and songs that linger long after the show ends. Their longevity — more than sixteen years — has earned them continued attention from outlets like Rolling Stone and Billboard, as well as steady airplay on AAA radio. Since 2008, Dustbowl Revival has released seven well‑received albums. Highlights include the fan‑favorite live record With a Lampshade On (2015), captured largely at the legendary Troubadour in Los Angeles, and their self‑titled 2017 album produced by Grammy‑winner Ted Hutt (Flogging Molly, Old Crow Medicine Show). Many consider their most ambitious work to be Is It You, Is It Me (2020), a deeply personal and expansive album produced by Sam Kassirer (Lake Street Dive, Josh Ritter).
