Blind Ego

Blind Ego is the solo project of German guitarist Kalle Wallner, best known for his work with the progressive rock band RPWL. The project serves as a creative outlet where Wallner explores a noticeably heavier, guitar‑driven sound than in his main band, blending elements of melodic rock, hard rock and modern progressive styles. Since its inception, Blind Ego has featured an evolving cast of guest musicians drawn from the European progressive rock scene. Contributors have included John Jowitt (IQ, Rain), John Mitchell (It Bites, Arena), Paul Wrightson (Arena), Arno Menses (Subsignal), Sebastian Harnack (Sylvan), drummer Michael Christoph, and several others, each adding their own character to the project’s recordings and live performances. Blind Ego released its debut album, Mirror, in 2007, followed by extensive touring across Europe and the United States. One of the project’s most memorable appearances was the so‑called “Storm Concert” at the Night of the Prog Festival in 2017, a performance that became legendary among fans due to the extreme weather conditions and the band’s determination to continue. The project’s fifth studio album is scheduled for release in autumn 2024, accompanied by a series of exclusive concert dates in November.
