Rocco Zifarelli

Rocco Zifarelli is a versatile guitarist, composer, arranger and educator from Rome, Italy. For more than two decades he was a key member of Ennio Morricone’s ensemble, contributing to studio soundtrack sessions as well as roughly 450 concerts worldwide. At the explicit request of Morricone and his family, Zifarelli remains part of the select group of musicians entrusted with preserving and performing the Maestro’s musical legacy. He continues this work in the international production “Ennio Morricone – The Official Concert Celebration,” directed by Andrea Morricone. Since 2022, Zifarelli has also been touring globally with legendary drummer Billy Cobham. He joined the “Spectrum 50th” project—celebrating the 50th anniversary of Cobham’s landmark album—alongside Gary Husband, Michael Mondesir and Christian Galvez. He is additionally involved in two further Cobham projects: the Billy Cobham Big Band, recently featured at festivals in Panama and Tbilisi, and the Billy Cobham Time Machine Septet, scheduled for international touring from October 2024. Earlier in his career, Zifarelli received the Eddie Lang Guitar Award in 1991, recognizing him as one of Italy’s most promising young jazz guitarists.
