Meltt is a Canadian alternative‑rock band from Vancouver known for its expansive sound, blending heavy guitar work with vivid instrumentation, detailed production and layered songwriting. Their music often incorporates atmospheric textures and dream‑like elements, creating an immersive sonic landscape. The group consists of longtime friends Chris Smith (vocals, guitar, bass, keyboards), James Porter (guitar, keyboards, bass), Ian Winkler (bass, keyboards, guitar) and Jamie Turner (drums, percussion). All four members are multi‑instrumentalists, a trait that shapes the band’s collaborative approach. Much of the writing for their second album, Eternal Embers, took place during the COVID‑19 lockdowns, with each member developing ideas independently before reuniting to assemble the material into a cohesive whole.
