Brent Mason

Brent Mason (born July 13, 1959) is an American session guitarist and occasional songwriter based in Nashville, best known for his extensive work in country music. Over the course of his career he has played on thousands of recordings, becoming one of the most in‑demand studio guitarists of his generation. In addition to his session work, Mason has released two instrumental studio albums and holds several songwriting credits. He is a Grammy Award winner (2008) and a two‑time recipient of the CMA Musician of the Year award. Beyond his own releases, he has also produced recordings for a number of artists. Mason was born in Van Wert, Ohio, on July 13, 1959, and later established himself in Nashville, where he built a reputation for his distinctive tone, technical precision and stylistic versatility.
