Blues Beatles is a Brazilian musical project known for combining classic Beatles compositions with blues‑oriented arrangements. The group emerged informally during rehearsal breaks of the band Today, founded in 2010 by Marcos Viana, Flavio Naves, Lancaster Ferreira, Bruno Falcão and Fred Barley. During these sessions, vocalist Marcos Viana frequently performed Beatles songs on acoustic guitar, revealing a natural affinity for the material. The distinctive character of these performances stemmed from Viana’s personal vocal approach. Rather than imitating the original singers, he interpreted the songs in his own style, which gave the material a different emotional tone. His bandmates recognized the potential of this reinterpretation, leading to the development of a dedicated project that later became known as Blues Beatles.
