NoApology is a modern rock project developed by Daria Zaritskaya and Sergey Sershen, emerging from the earlier YouTube‑based collaboration Sershen & Zaritskaya. The project focuses on re‑imagining well‑known songs with contemporary production, high‑energy arrangements and a strong vocal presence. Their approach blends classic rock aesthetics with modern recording techniques, resulting in reinterpretations that appeal to both long‑time rock listeners and a younger online audience. NoApology grew directly out of the success of the Sershen & Zaritskaya era, a Kyiv‑based YouTube project known for polished hard‑rock covers of classic songs. The channel built a large international following through recognizable material, tight arrangements and Zaritskaya’s distinctive vocal style. This foundation provided the momentum for a more defined band identity, eventually leading to the formation of NoApology. The project is built around a DIY ethos. All stages of production — arranging, recording, mixing, mastering, filming and editing — are handled independently in Sershen Music Studio. The group selects songs based on personal resonance rather than genre boundaries, resulting in a catalog that spans classic rock, pop hits and other familiar material.
