The Teskey Brothers

The Teskey Brothers are an Australian blues‑rock band from Melbourne, named after the two brothers who formed the group in 2008: Josh Teskey (vocals, rhythm guitar) and Sam Teskey (lead guitar). In 2019, they signed with Glassnote Records and Ivy League Records. The band has released three studio albums: Half Mile Harvest (2017), Run Home Slow (2019) and The Winding Way (2023). At the 2019 ARIA Music Awards, The Teskey Brothers received seven nominations and won three categories for Run Home Slow: Best Group, Best Blues and Roots Album, and Engineer of the Year (Sam Teskey). The band was formed in 2008 by brothers Josh (vocals) and Sam Teskey (guitar), together with Brendon Love (bass) and Liam Gough (drums). They began by performing on the streets and at parties before moving on to larger venues, eventually attracting attention from record labels. Their breakthrough came in 2017. On 12 January 2017, The Teskey Brothers released their debut album Half Mile Harvest, recorded and produced in their home studio. The album reached the Top 20 of the ARIA charts and eventually hit No. 1 on the ARIA Independent Albums chart. In 2018, they signed a publishing deal with Downtown Music Publishing. In 2019, they signed with Glassnote Records, Ivy League Records, and Mushroom Music Publishing. In July 2019, the band won the Levi Music Prize, awarded to support Australian and New Zealand artists in expanding their international reach. That same year, they contributed seven songs to the soundtrack of the film Palm Beach, released in July 2019.
