Michel St‑Père was introduced to the guitar at the age of nine by his father, and by twelve he had already formed his first band. At seventeen he studied at the Trebas Institute of Recording Arts, and soon after, with help from his father and a friend, he built his first recording studio. He later founded the Canadian progressive rock band MYSTERY, releasing the group’s debut EP in 1992. In 1996 he launched Unicorn Records, originally created to support MYSTERY’s releases. By the early 2000s the label began working with other artists, and it has since grown into a catalogue of more than one hundred albums. Alongside his work with MYSTERY, Michel is also a member of the progressive rock band HUIS, currently involved in the production of their third album, while simultaneously working on MYSTERY’s tenth.
