The Adekaem is a Polish progressive‑rock project founded in January 2013 by Andrzej Bielas (keyboards) and Krzysztof Wala (guitars). The duo draws inspiration from 1970s and 1980s progressive and psychedelic rock, while also incorporating elements of classic rock and jazz‑rock into their sound. The band signed with Lynx Music, releasing their debut album on 13 October 2015. Their second album, Sound Coloring, followed on 29 September 2017, also through Lynx Music. After this release, The Adekaem returned to operating as a duo, with Bielas and Wala remaining the core members. A close collaborator, Jakub Basoń, contributes lyrics and participates in the mixing, mastering and graphic design of the band’s releases, effectively functioning as a third creative partner. On 20 November 2020, the band independently released the EP Exile, which served as a preview of their third album, The Great Lie — planned as a double album and released in spring 2021. A number of guest musicians contributed to Sound Coloring, Exile and The Great Lie, including: Marcin Staszek (Moonrise) – vocals, Krzysztof Wyrwa (Millenium) – bass, Tomasz Holewa (Chłopcy z Placu Broni) – drums, Martyna Zygadło – vocals. These collaborations expanded the band’s sonic palette while maintaining their progressive‑rock foundation.
