Aran Prog Project is a progressive‑music ensemble based in Barcelona, Spain, led by bassist, composer, and producer Massimiliano “MarFi” Gentilini. Originally from Italy and active in Barcelona since 2010, Gentilini developed the project after many years of experience as a music teacher, session musician, and performer in bands such as Death Keepers (featuring Mike Vescera, ex‑Yngwie Malmsteen and ex‑Loudness) and Nerea y los del Callejón (with members of Jarabe de Palo). Alongside his work as an educator at the Jam Session school, he also maintains a notable online presence through his YouTube channel Bass Tunes. Conceived as a studio‑driven initiative, Aran Prog Project brings together a rotating cast of session musicians. Although Gentilini composes the core material, each contributor adds individual arrangements, resulting in a stylistic blend that spans progressive metal, cinematic sound design, jazz‑inflected textures, and electronic elements. The project’s debut album, Evo, is a concept work centered on philosophical reflections about existence and human nature. A significant milestone in the group’s evolution is the single “Everything Ends”, which marked the moment when Aran Prog Project’s musical identity fully crystallized. The track showcases the project’s hybrid approach: atmospheric guitars and synthesizers, dynamic percussion, orchestral layers, and subtle jazz influences woven into a progressive‑metal framework. Its structure unfolds like a three‑act narrative, moving from introspection to conflict and ultimately toward resolution.
