Space Debris is a band from southern Germany that produces instrumental music in the tradition of early 1970s krautrock, psychedelic rock, and hard rock. The band was conceived in 2001 by Christian Jäger, who not only plays drums but also handles management, mixing and mastering, and the band’s artwork. The founding members also include Tommy Gorny (guitar, and occasionally bass) and Tom Kunkel (organ), who later left the group and was replaced in 2008 by Winnie Rimbach‑Sator. To date, the band has produced 20 releases independently, including 10 studio albums, all available on CD and mostly also on vinyl. In the early years, various guest musicians contributed to recordings in the band’s own studio. First pressings of several LPs have already become sought‑after collector’s items. A concert DVD titled Into the Sun, recorded during a WDR Rockpalast production at the Burg Herzberg Festival in 2006, documents a complete Space Debris performance and was also released as a CD version through the label in‑akustik. With their return to the legendary Burg Herzberg Festival in 2015, Space Debris revisited the site of their first major success. A second DVD from this performance has been available since February 2016, this time featuring visually psychedelic special effects under the title Into the Moon.
