Dreamstate Logic

Dreamstate Logic is the solo electronic music project of American musician Colby Cosmos (b. 1985), based in the Pacific Northwest of the United States. His work spans downtempo, ambient, futuristic electronica and related experimental styles. The project is characterized by expansive soundscapes, atmospheric synthesizer layers and a cinematic approach to composition, often inspired by themes of space, introspection and speculative science. Cosmos has been an active synthesizer musician for more than two decades. Before launching Dreamstate Logic, he spent roughly ten years as the keyboardist in a melodic metal band, gaining extensive experience in live performance, touring and studio recording. Throughout this period, his early fascination with electronic music—sparked in his teenage years through trance and industrial genres—remained a central creative influence. In 2010, he began experimenting seriously with electronic composition, eventually leaving his previous musical projects to focus exclusively on Dreamstate Logic. The project became a vehicle for exploring personal themes through sound, blending ambient textures with rhythmic and melodic elements drawn from across the electronic music spectrum. Dreamstate Logic’s work often reflects a conceptual interest in cosmology, consciousness and the human place within a vast universe. Through layered synthesizers and evolving atmospheric structures, the project aims to evoke contemplation, inner exploration and a sense of connection to larger cosmic narratives.
