Joanne Shaw Taylor

Joanne Shaw Taylor has grown into one of the standout voices in modern blues‑rock. First noticed at the age of sixteen by Dave Stewart of the Eurythmics, her exceptional guitar skills immediately earned her an invitation to join his project D.U.P., marking the beginning of a fast‑rising career. Her playing quickly attracted praise from major artists including Jimmy Cliff, Joe Bonamassa, Stevie Wonder, and Annie Lennox — a testament to her remarkable talent.

As her career progressed, Joanne established herself as one of the most in‑demand guitarists of her generation. Her debut album White Sugar (2009) introduced her powerful voice and strong songwriting, setting the tone for a series of acclaimed releases. She followed with Diamonds In The Dirt (2010), Almost Always Never (2012) — which featured the UK radio favorite “Soul Station” — and the live album Songs From The Road (2013). In 2014 she released The Dirty Truth, featuring standout tracks such as “Mud, Honey” and “Wicked Soul.” Her 2016 album Wild, produced by Kevin Shirley, included performances of “Dyin’ To Know” and “Summertime” on the BBC’s Later… with Jools Holland.
