Kit Tang

Kit Tang (born 1984, Hong Kong) is a Hong Kong–based guitarist, producer, and recording engineer, best known as the Director of Red Sound Recording Studio. Active as a musician since childhood, Tang has developed a personal style shaped by rock, instrumental virtuosity, and modern guitar techniques. His work spans performance, studio production, artist development, and music education. Tang was born and raised in Hong Kong. He first encountered the guitar at the age of ten after watching concert and music‑video performances by Bon Jovi, an experience that sparked a lifelong dedication to the instrument. Without formal instruction in his early years, he learned primarily by ear, studying recordings and video footage of prominent guitarists. Among his earliest and most influential inspirations were Paul Gilbert, Steve Vai, Andy Timmons, and Yngwie Malmsteen, whose technical approaches and stage presence shaped Tang’s developing musicianship. Throughout his adolescence he spent countless hours analyzing phrasing, tone, and technique, gradually adapting these influences into his own playing vocabulary. This self‑directed learning period laid the foundation for the stylistic versatility he would later bring into professional work.
