Fuzzy Duck

Fuzzy Duck were an English progressive rock and hard rock band from London, formed in 1970.The band’s only studio album, Fuzzy Duck, was released in 1971 on the MAM label. The lineup featured bassist and vocalist Mick Hawksworth, previously a member of Five Day Week Straw People, Killing Floor and Andromeda. The group also included keyboardist Roy Sharland from Crazy World of Arthur Brown and drummer Paul Francis, formerly of Tucky Buzzard and later Tranquility. Shortly after the release of their debut album, Fuzzy Duck disbanded. Despite their brief existence, continued interest from collectors and progressive rock enthusiasts led to several CD reissues by labels including Akarma, Esoteric and Repertoire Records. In 1971, vocalist Garth Watt-Roy, the elder brother of bassist Norman Wa tt-Roy, was invited to provide lead vocals for Steamhammer’s final album, Speech. Released in 1972, the album was produced by former Yardbirds singer Keith Relf. Garth Watt-Roy later performed guitar and vocal duties with East of Eden. During the 1980s, he played guitar on Bonnie Tyler’s Goodbye to the Island album and also worked with Paul Young and the Q-Tips.
