Smak (Serbian Cyrillic: Смак; meaning “The end time”) is a Serbian (formerly Yugoslav) rock band formed in Kragujevac in 1971. The group reached the height of its popularity during the 1970s, becoming one of the most notable acts of the Yugoslav rock scene. The band’s leader, guitarist Radomir Mihailović, nicknamed Točak (“The Wheel”), is regarded as one of the most influential guitarists in Yugoslav rock. Formed in 1971 by guitarist Radomir “Točak” Mihajlović and drummer Slobodan “Kepa” Stojanović, the band did not settle into a stable lineup until 1975, when bassist Zoran Milanović, vocalist Boris Aranđelović, and keyboardist Laza Ristovski became official members. After recording their self‑titled debut album, Ristovski left the group, and the remaining quartet recorded subsequent albums with various keyboardists until disbanding in 1981. After brief reunions between 1986 and 1992, founding members Mihajlović and Stojanović re‑formed the band with younger musicians: vocalist Dejan “Najda” Najdanović, second drummer Dejan “Kepa Jr.” Stojanović, second guitarist Milan “Mikica” Milosavljević, and bassist Vlada Samardžić. In the late 1990s, Samardžić was replaced by bassist Slobodan “Sale” Marković, who remained with the band until its 2002 disbandment. Members from the final lineup reunited again in 2010, joined by new bassist Miloš Petrović, and in 2012 the band’s classic lineup held a one‑off reunion.
