John F. Klaver is a Dutch guitarist, singer, composer and music educator. He picked up the guitar at the age of eleven, inspired by players such as Gary Moore, Robben Ford and Jimi Hendrix. After earning his VWO diploma, he chose to continue his studies in the United States, spending a year at Stagg High School as a senior while taking private guitar lessons and music theory courses at the University of the Pacific. When he returned to the Netherlands, Klaver was accepted into the Conservatory of Amsterdam, where he studied under Jesse van Ruller, Martijn van Iterson and Eef Albers. In 2007 he formed his own group, originally the John F. Klaver Trio, which later evolved into the John F. Klaver Band.
