TATRAN is an instrumental trio formed in Tel Aviv, Israel, in 2011. The group consists of Offir Benjaminov (bass), Tamuz Dekel (guitar) and Dan Mayo (drums). Their music draws on a wide range of influences, including jazz, avant‑garde, post‑rock and experimental styles, resulting in an eclectic and highly improvisational sound. The band quickly gained international attention through their independently released recordings, which reached top positions on Bandcamp’s jazz, instrumental and post‑rock charts. Their energetic live performances and genre‑blending approach helped them build a dedicated following and secure appearances at festivals and venues worldwide. On 12 November 2014, TATRAN released their debut album Shvat. The album features ten original instrumental compositions and includes a reinterpretation of The Beatles’ “Strawberry Fields Forever.” Shvat received strong international acclaim and further elevated the band’s profile, reinforcing their reputation as one of the most innovative instrumental acts emerging from Israel. Over the years, TATRAN has performed extensively across Israel and abroad, appearing at festivals, clubs and cultural events. Their dynamic interplay, extended improvisations and stylistic openness have contributed to their status as a distinctive presence in the contemporary instrumental and experimental music scene.
