Tom Veltien began playing guitar at the age of five, and about six years later he gave his first live performance. In his early teenage years he appeared on stage alongside several international guitarists, including American fusion player Allen Hinds and British blues guitarist Danny Giles. In 2012, the Tom Veltien Band was formed. Not long afterward, he presented his own full concert at the Hoftheater in Raalte, organized by The Celebration of Music Club. For this performance he was joined by some of the Netherlands’ top session musicians: Tollak Ollestad (keyboards, vocals, harmonica), Sietse Huisman (drums), Serge Bredewold (bass), Martin Verdonk (percussion) and Lodewijk van Gorp (vocals). They were reinforced by a powerful horn section featuring Ton Nieuwkamp (saxophone), Arjan Stam (trumpet) and Hein Jan van Vilsteren (trombone). This period of growth and collaboration led to a successful appearance on the main stage of Ribs & Blues in 2016.
