Emily Hastings is an American singer‑songwriter, guitarist, and online music creator who gained recognition through her YouTube channel, where she shares guitar‑driven covers and original material. Her channel has grown to more than 280,000 abonnees, establishing her as a notable figure among contemporary guitar influencers. Before her online success, she performed with her sisters in a family band called Hastings. Hastings grew up in a musical household and began singing at the age of vijf, together with her four sisters, with whom she shared a bedroom. Throughout her childhood she appeared in musical theater productions, including a leading role in Alice in Wonderland. She later earned a bachelor’s degree in international studies and subsequently completed a Juris Doctor degree in law school. Hastings has cited Zakk Wylde as one of her major musical influences. After winning a contest sponsored by Guitar Center, she was flown to Los Angeles for a two‑day masterclass taught by Wylde — an experience she has described as formative for her development as a guitarist. Her mother had also been active in music as the guitarist and vocalist of the rock band The Bittersweets, contributing to the family’s musical environment.
