Junipher Greene

JUNIPHER GREENENorwegian progpressive rock/hard rock group from Oslo, Norway, active between 1966 and 1983. The initial line-up included Bent Åserud on guitars, keyboards, flute and vocals, Geir Bøhren on vocals, drums and sax, Helge Grøslie on keyboards, Freddy Dahl on guitar and vocals and Øyvind Vilbo on bass.

They released their ambitious debut album in 1971 called “Friendship”. It stands as one of Norway’s earliest progressive album and the country’s first double LP. Helge Grøslie and Freddy Dahl left before their 2nd album came in 1973 “Communication”.Then little were heard from them until “Rewind” (1981), which contained music recorded between 1969 and 1980, Almost all unreleased until this was released.

The year after saw the change to Norwegian lyrics and their swan song “Forbudte formiddagstoner”. After this Bøhren and Åserud went into composing movie soundtracks, With big sucsess. Norwegian band releasing the first double LP in Norway titled Friendship in 1971. Disbanded in 1975 and in 1980 reunited to release another two albums.
