Vince Hawkins and Company Slave

Vince Hawkins & Company Slave is built around a deep love for heavy, blues‑driven rock — music that draws its strength from the freedom and emotion at the heart of the blues. Founded by guitarist and vocalist Vince Hawkins, the band has grown into a powerful trio known for delivering high‑energy performances that resonate with longtime blues‑rock fans as well as listeners discovering the genre for the first time. Hawkins grew up in Toronto, Canada, one of six children in a crowded townhouse in an Ontario housing project. His father worked long hours as a cab driver while his mother kept the household running. By the age of sixteen, Vince had worn out countless record needles and most of his brothers’ vinyl collection, teaching himself guitar by ear. He absorbed the sounds of Cream, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Ten Years After, Ted Nugent, and a long list of blues artists who shaped his musical identity.
